As an audio engineer you might spend more time in finding the best audio level to suits various needs.

For an audio engineer, the audio level should be overlooked in order to make the audience engaged.

There are lots of misinformation about the correct audio levels that has to be followed.

Here’s a few of my recommended level suggestions.

Audio should never exceed 0dB
Audio mix levels : -3dB to -6dB
SFX levels : -12dB to -18dB
Underscore music level : -18dB

According to some experts the recommendations mentioned above are on the quiet side but when thinking about it from the audience point of view, it is much better for him / her to turn up the volume than run the risk of peaking or distortion.
